Should we bother with Facebook Advertising if 44% of us would never click on a sponsored ad?

Following on from Andreas Pouros’ blog, I take one of his closing points: “The good news for Facebook is that it could capture around 22% of that search market by barely breaking a sweat”. Although tiny when compared to Google’s 87% share [Source: Greenlight - Search and Social Survey 2011/2012], the opportunity still presents a greater share when compared to the other big players in the market (Yahoo, Bing etc).

Amazon’s ‘Kindle’ and RIM’s ‘Blackberry’ attracting more searches than Apple’s ‘iPhone 4s’

Over 13 million UK searches were conducted online for consumer electronics in February with Amazon’s ‘Kindle’ and Research In Motion’s ‘Blackberry’ attracting more queries than those for Apple ‘iPhone 4s’, according to Greenlight's latest independent research. Although not on the market yet, there were 450,000 searches for the term ‘iPhone 5’ compared to 368,000 for ‘iPhone 4s’.

Consumer searches for White Goods show signs of being static

UK online searches for cooking, refrigeration, and dishwasher and laundry products seem to have remained static going by Greenlight's latest quarterly research. It shows queries for white goods products totalled 1 million in February - little rise on November 2011’s 957,000 or those of August 2011 which also stood at 1 million.
